Research and Development team of Scientific and technological Innovation dual-use Resources of Medicine and Food

A brief introduction to the team.

After entering the 21st century, the fourth wave of scientific and technological development of human society is the health industry known as HT (Health Technology) industry. It is often said that "medicine is not as good as dietary supplement". Using food instead of medicine, or as an adjuvant treatment, can not only avoid or reduce the harmful residues of drugs in the human body, but also reduce the economic burden. The application of medicinal and edible plants in China has a long history, but so far, the research on medicinal and edible plants is less, the development of industrialization is still very backward, lack of systematic and in-depth development, lack of organization and guidance.

In order to promote the rapid development of dual-use resources of medicine and food in Henan Province and even in the central and western regions of China, greatly enhance the market competitiveness and significantly improve the social and economic benefits. Professor Kang Wenyi of School of Pharmacy of Henan University organized and declared the innovation team of colleges and universities in Henan Province, and was formally approved by the innovation team of research and development of dual-use resources of medicine and food in Henan Province on December 22,2015, with a funding of 1 million yuan.

At present, the team has 12 core and backbone members, including 5 professors, 4 associate professors and 3 lecturers, including 2 doctoral supervisors and 9 master's degree supervisors.

The research direction.

(1) study on the effective components of dual-use resources of medicine and food: determination of the effective components.

(2) Evaluation of active ingredients: study on the efficacy of health food development and pharmacodynamics of drug development.

(3) enrichment of effective components and removal of heavy metal ions: the enrichment technology of effective components was studied to meet the needs of industrialization.

Henan Province has won 3 second prizes for medical scientific and technological achievements, published more than 300 research papers (more than 40 in SCI), authorized 26 national invention patents, and published 4 monographs and teaching materials.
