The cultivation and utilization of Eucommia ulmoides engineering laboratory in Henan Province was approved by Henan Development and Reform Commission in 2014. The center integrates the advantage resources of key disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine, natural medicine and immune engineering laboratory and other related disciplines. It is headed by Professor Li Qin, who is the leader of the first-level key discipline of Henan Province-traditional Chinese Medicine, the drug evaluation expert of the State Food and Drug Administration and the academic leader of the high-quality course Pharmacognosy of Henan University. It is affiliated to the School of Pharmacy of Henan University. The center now has 29 R & D staff, including 7 professors and 19 associate professors. At present, the area of the center is more than 5000 square meters. Among them, the laboratory area of Henan University Pharmaceutical College is 1000 square meters, Henan Lingbao Tiandi Science and Technology Ecology Co., Ltd. is 2500 square meters, and the laboratory area of Economic Forest Research and Development Center of Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences is 1500 square meters. After three years of construction, the center has established three characteristic research directions: (1) innovation and genetic diversity of Eucommia ulmoides seed resources, (2) active components and action mechanism of Eucommia ulmoides, and (3) the development of new resource food of Eucommia ulmoides. At present, it undertakes more than 30 projects of various types, such as the national public welfare project, the national key R & D project, the national natural science fund, the national "948th" project, the national standardization project of traditional Chinese medicine, the international cooperation project, the national youth science fund, the key science and technology project of Henan Province, the basic frontier of Henan Province, the key research plan of the Department of Education, etc., and the funding for scientific research is more than 10 million yuan. Since its establishment, the center has won 8 provincial and ministerial awards, 31 authorized invention patents, 2 million yuan in income from technology transfer, 4 projects to popularize and transform achievements, radiated Henan and Shandong provinces, and increased profits by 10 million yuan. 76 graduates have been trained, 120 internships have been received, 2 technical training courses have been held, and 90 trainees have been trained.

The total value of the equipment in the engineering center is 50 million yuan. Among them, the laboratory equipment of the School of Pharmacy of Henan University is worth more than 22 million yuan, Henan Lingbao Tiandi Science and Technology Ecology Co., Ltd. has a total value of 16 million yuan, and the laboratory equipment of the Economic Forest Research and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences is worth. There are mainly CO2 supercritical extraction equipment, 33-impulse high-speed rotary press, preparative high-performance liquid chromatography, fluorescence quantitative PCR, frozen high-speed centrifuge, ultra-low temperature refrigerator, high performance liquid chromatograph, Eucommia ulmoides oil refining equipment and so on. Independent development of Eucommia ulmoides fruit shelling equipment, laboratory equipment can process Eucommia fruit more than 500 kg per day, if magnified into pilot-scale and production scale equipment, will greatly improve the processing capacity of Eucommia ulmoides fruit.
