At 3:00 p.m. on November 21, the finals of the theme speech competition of "praise new China, build a new era of dreams" were successfully held in classroom 2302. Cao Yuhui, director of the Party committee office, Guo Jiping, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Wang Li, counselor of 2018, were invited to attend the meeting and act as judges.

After the brief introduction of the host, the speech contest officially opened. Looking back at the vicissitudes of the motherland, the contestants recount the motherland's 70 years of united efforts, hard work and spring breeze. They either express their good wishes to the motherland with deep feelings; or convey their determination to remember the mission and forge ahead with sonorous words; or praise the greatness of the motherland with warm love songs. The audience's emotions were constantly pushed to the highest point by the contestants' impassioned speeches and cheers, and many people's eyes were gradually moistened. They confessed to the great motherland with sincere emotion and relaxed tone. All the teachers and students were proud of the prosperity of the motherland.

After nearly two hours of fierce competition, 2018 undergraduate Hu Mengwen and Tong shuaihang won the first prize, 2019 undergraduate Han Lu, Hao Xinyu and Yan Zhiruo won the second prize, 2019 graduate Gu Wenwen and 2018 undergraduate Chi Leizi won the third prize. The teacher presented awards to the winners and took a group photo as a memento. The competition came to a successful conclusion in the warm applause of the audience.
