The Natural Medicine Research Institute was established in December 2005. it mainly uses the chemical extraction and separation technology of natural products as the basic experimental means to separate and purify active monomer compounds from medicinal and edible plant resources and higher fungal resources, combined with clinical pathogenic bacteriology. the pharmacology of traditional Chinese medicine focuses on the research and development of clinical anti-drug-resistant strains, anti-tumor, anti-oxidation and other natural drugs.

At present, the Institute has 7 full-time and part-time staff, including 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 4 master's degrees or above, and 11 graduate students. It undertakes 8 professional courses and elective courses for undergraduates and graduate students in the College of Pharmacy and the whole school. they are "Natural Product Chemistry", "extraction and Separation Technology of traditional Chinese Medicine", "Food Chemistry", "Clinical Diagnostics of Western Medicine", "Food Nutrition", "Organic structure Spectrum Analysis", "Progress of Natural Product Chemistry", "Oriental Dietetic Culture" and so on. It undertakes the National Nature Fund, Henan Science and Technology Research Project and Henan Natural Science Foundation, and publishes 42 articles, of which 10 are included in SCI and EI, 1 patent application project, and 4 awards in Henan Province.
